I gave the OK and he completed the work of replacing sections of the drainage system that were the causing the clogging. The next morning I noted that one of the two sections had stopped functioning, ie no flow at all, while the other section worked perfectly. I called then and this time two plumber came, to review what had been done the previous day. They took the section apart and found that in the cause of the previous day's repairs a piece of their equipment had fallen into the drain pipe, thus causing a blockage. The piece was removed from the drain, and the section was put together again, they also performed a rodding of the full length of the drain (approx 8ft) as a bonus. All the remediation work done on the second day, was done without any additional charge."

The guy showed up at exactly 7 am, which I loved. He was immediately very nice and got right down to business. I felt that the price for power augering my drain was a bit high ($300) but it was in line with the 2 other quotes I got through ServiceMagic. The guy also spent time to tell me about some preventative / monthly maintenance I could do to prevent my clog from happening again. If I ever need a plummer again, I will call Van Der Bosch first."

If that didn't work, he'd go to the 2nd option, a much more involved procedure, which cost around $950. If I opted for the latter, all I would pay would be the $950 although conceivably the problem might be solved with the 1st option. But if I opted to start with this one, I'd have to pay the $1200 if he ended up doing both. Of course I chose the 1st, hoping it would suffice. Since it didn't, I ended up paying a "reduced" price of under $1200. The man was informative, pleasant, and efficient. I've since been told I shd've gotten 2nd opinion."

He came back the very next day with all the materials needed to complete the job. They also deducted the service call fee from the previous day. Overall I was more than satisfied."

They actually called before I got around to it which was great. I had them install a water heater that I had purchased and they also did quite a few other things to get it up to code for me. My only issue was that it seemed that my drain had "unclogged" itself in the process of me trying to find a plumber. They still charged me a $79 assessment fee. But, the tech was great and helped me fix a pesky drain stop that had been eluding us for months. So, all in all, worth it! Would totally recommend them to a friend or colleague. "

He gave us an estimate within a day or so, which was a little higher than we had anticipated. He had his crew come out within a couple of days and it took them aout 3 days to fix our sewer and pipes, which was what was expected. Their team was knowlegable and skilled. We are still waiting for them to come and look at a water pressure issue we called them about afterwards but overall we were pleased with the work."

I had already talked to three other contractors before I called Van Der Bosch. Carlos took time to look closely at the pit, clean the spider weds out so we could see into the pit, looked at the connections and we discussed the different kinds of pumps available. The price he quoted was higher than the others but he gave me the feeling that he knew what he was talking about and would make the necessary connects correctly. He showed me the pumps before he installed them and explained how the backup system works. He seemed relaible and knowledgable."

As long as they continue to offer competitive rates, I would definitely work with them again."
